HEAD INJURIES SUCK!

Hello everybody!! So much has been going on once again, and of course, I have managed to get hurt. I have a contusion of the brain! I was playing soccer and hit the back of my head off of a 2x4 piece of wood. Good job, right? Well anyhow I narrowly escaped a concussion. Also, I am going to a magazine release party on Saturday, pics up later, possibly seeing "The Lucky One" Friday, and then I THINK shopping Sunday. I will have a haul up later today!

First Impression: Gone - Michael Grant

I am about 200 pages into Gone by Michael Grant, so I thought I would do a post on what I think so far!

The story is very fast past and exciting! So far, there has not been a slow moment! The characters are mostly decent, with a few exceptions. (No spoilers on my in depth thoughts until the review!) I love this world that Michael Grant has created and the real life feel you get while reading it, very relatable. There is a double story going on as well. A small story is running about 1 every 20 pages, flipping between two settings. There is no explanation to what is going on with the second story, but for some reason I get the feel like it happened in the past. I could be wrong though..I probably am.

Overall I am really loving this book! The only thing is I LOVE the UK cover SO much more!  I think the US one is quite corny :/ I dont like being told what my characters look like on the cover.

(UK COVER. THE SIDES ARE THE SAME COLOR) So much better(:

Has anyone read this? If so , what do you think!?

A little relaxation is a good thing..

Right now what are you doing? Sitting at an electronic device reading this post. Are you breathing? Obviously. So your doing good! You can relax now!
Okay, so yesterday I promised a post today, so here it is! Right now, I am watching one of my favorite movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, eating a "Skinny Cow" ice cream, and absolutely doing nothing. I couldn't be happier!

Tomorrow, I don't have school, so I have some blogging and reading to catch up on! My feet have been taking a beating lately from all the heels I've worn, so being back in my Converse today was like heaven!!
Also, I have a few different play options coming up soon. I have Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Zombie Prom. Peter Pan and Zombie Prom are by the same company, so I may only do one, but I am defiantly doing Cinderella. (I have to be careful for schedule conflicts) What one would you guys pick? Zombie Prom or Peter Pan?? Peter Pan is so classic and Zombie Prom just sounds like so much fun!

(can you believe google had a picture like this for me to use!?)
Well anyhow, I also have some charity meetings coming up, and a few fundraisers, so those should keep me busy for a little while.
I have also been meeting a ton of new people lately, and I love it! Everyone has been so so SO nice and encouraging, I couldn't be surrounded by better people!
Also on an off note, Blogging is defiantly becoming a part of my life again! But I feel like my blog has no exposure. If anyone would like to, feel free to mention me on their blog! When I reach, if, 100 followers I will have a big giveaway!
I have to go, Johnny Deep and Orlando Bloom are fighting!
Toodles!

PS. Do you ever find yourself flinching while watching people fight or dance? I do!

But on the plus side I have been meeting some really amazing people and have been having a ton of fun recently. Also, I got my IMAC computer, so managing everything Im into it becoming easier. I am going to post TOMORROW and try to go into detail on what I have been up to, considering its almost 1 am right now and I cannot even correct my grammar. Every other word I type I swear I yawn.
Also, I got my hair dyed yesterday, and I love it!!(:
Have any of you guys tried Color Match makeup? I stopped in Ulta today on my way back from an audition and bought it, and so far im pleased with it! It seems almost all foundation has an orangey undertone on my face, and so far im not orange! Okay, well I  will see you all tomorrow! Toodles!

Hunger Games Trilogy-Character-Katniss Everdeen

Late last night I finished the last book in the Hunger Games Trilogy, Mocking Jay. I have so many things to say about this series, so if you have not read the series, do not continue reading, there will be many, many, many spoilers. First, I will start with characters. These posts will be a series, as I have to much to say. So be prepared for Hunger Games Overload.
Character
Katniss Everdeen-
Katniss in the beginning of the book seemed very dry to me. At first, it was like she didn't have a personality, but then that changed. You being to realize that she is strong as a person, and puts everything and anything she loves before her. After you find out that her dad died, and she says blatantly that he was blown to bits in a mine explosion, you realize you are dealing with a no bull shit kind of girl, something you hardly find in YA anymore. This is where Katniss started to develop as a character for me. You begin to see her world is hardly anything to brag about, the small district 12. I got the feeling they were more of a close nit southern community. The hob and Greasy Sea immediately stood out to me.
I was relived when she lived through all the books! In the Hob is where you find out how Katniss and Gale have kept their families alive. I think Katniss's character would have been a lot more kind if the book had her and her dad together. I feel that if there was one thing in her life post-hunger games, it would of been to save her dad from the explosion. You could tell it was the only thing that really ever affected her. Once that happens and her mother gets depressed, she turned into an adult. The only adult Prim had in her life. Katniss steps up to the plate and finds a way to keep her sister, mother, and herself alive.
Risking everything to hunt is what defines Katniss right from the beginning. You see that she does not care about the rules, the electric fence, possible execution, or wild animals. If it will save her sister, she will do it.

Skip to the reaping. Once again, she puts everything she loves before herself and steps up to take Prim's place. What really stood out here was the determination she had to keep Prom out of the games and in safety. Then Peeta is called and the love story begins. Hating him for owing him, she is also alive because of him. The debt is what she cannot stand, owing something to him and not being able to repay it. Their strategy  then became star crossed lovers from district 12, who are on fire. In the games, she makes allies with Rue. Of course, because of the nature of the games, she has to watch Rue die, and sings to her while she does, (Rue is the first reminder of the Mocking Jays that would stop when her dad sang..major importance later on.) and then covers her in flowers. One of Katniss's acts of rebellion. From this point on, Snow has it out for her. Then the relationship with Peeta beings for real, and even when Katniss cant tell, she is starting to fall for him. Keep him safe and sound while she nurses him back to health. Doing everything she possibly can to get him the medicine to keep him alive, Katniss has something in her heart for Peeta.

Skip to the aftermath. They both get out of the games. Katniss thinks she will return to being her sisters rock, but they all had to grow up while she was in the games.

I think the most outstanding trait Katniss has is her determination. Nothing keeps her down, until later on.

In Catching Fire, I feel like Katniss gives up on her will to live for a while when she only wants to keep Peeta alive, but her own nature of survival kicks in and she will live. I almost feel like this book was the link to the final ending, introducing all the characters to have them stay, instead of them dying like you would of expected them to. The beginning half of the book, I feel Katniss still has the fear off everything from the games, although she would never admit it. I think she was afraid of the victor house, but hey, thats just me. Not much changed my view of her in this book except that the ounce of trust she had in humanity before the games was completely lost. She is quick to kill now, not even thinking twice. Then everything changes in Mocking Jay.

In Mocking Jay, I feel like Katniss starts off strong, as she always was, and then looses herself to fear. Especially since Peeta has been ripped away from her, as well as her home, her life, and everything she ever new. So much for a 17 year old to experience. As the book goes on you can feel her slipping away, with everything happens. When they are on their "mission" and she takes charge, I thought that her real character finally showed through. A leader. After all, her face was the rebellion. When Prim dies, I think Katniss does as well. Everything she ever fought for, loved, was gone. In the end though, I feel like Katniss needs Peetas kindness or she would fight off and kill everything around her. I finished the book last night, so my thoughts are a jumbled up mess, but thats what I think. How do you feel about Katniss?

Hex Hall Review

Have you ever read the House Of Night series? If you enjoyed it, this book is for you. This book was a fast simple read. I  enjoyed it, and will be picking up Demonglass, book 2 in the series. I feel like the book needed to be "decorated" a little, but overall it was good. It was very high school clique oriented as well, but with some twists. Now, I will let you in on three likes and three dislikes I had!
Likes!(:
  • In the book, there is a sort of flash back to a bad time in history. I really liked this part, and I thought it did a nice job of making the reading really feel sympathetic toward the story and characters.
  • The room mate. ( Not giving ANYTHING away)
  • The description in the book.
Dislikes :(
  • The cover. I feel like it does the book no justice.
  • I feel like the ending was rushed once you get to about 50 pages left.
  • It was written simply, almost like a children's book.
Comment poll!

My makeup collection + room tour?

Here is the overall view of my vanity where I do my makeup.

Opened makeup mirror. From here I will open each draw and show you what is on the desk(:

Some lotions and my perfumes
My current foundation, an acne treatment, and my embosser. It stamps into books, "From the personal library of Jordan (and my middle and last name)."
Hanging on the door knob to one of my draws, I have my Betsy Johnson necklace

When you open the first draw, I have my palettes. The ones in the front are stacked on one another.
And then this smashbox palette lays on top.
Next, I have a draw with my single eye shadows, paint-pots, and eye makeup
In the center pull out draw I have my face products, and in the back q-tips, wedges, cotton, things like that.
In the next draw I have random hair tool and free samples.
Next, contains my 2 holiday sets from smash box, unopened makeup, and nyx jumbo eye pencils.
On my desk, I have a spinning makeup table from QVC, that isnt really holding anything except lip products. The 2 larger makeup kits are also sitting out.

Then, I have my brushes in a cup from the Dixie Stampede
After my desk, I have my jewelry bow on the wall. Here is a sneak peek

Then, going around to the other side of this room, I have a rack with some bags and belts, a guitar case, and on the wall you can see my sunglasses hanging up.
Last, I just have a random pair of crutches that I was on early this year.

How do you guys organize your stuff? (:

Beauty, Music, & Book Haul

I have midterms Tuesday and Thursday, so I took today to de-stress a little bit. How you ask? Shopping! Along with Panera and Starbucks(: So, here is what I picked up!
I decided to show you guys the add the blush was advertised in. (It was laying next to where I was taking pictures lol) I also got this curling iron which I tried when I got home and have mixed feelings about. I will let you guys know what I think later.

I am currently reading Hex Hall, I didn't but it today, just thought I would share(: For books, I picked up Something Borrowed, Bed of Roses, and Rumors. For hair, I got aussie, 3 minute miracle. I used it tonight and so far, I really like it! It leaves my hair super soft and smells super good! I haven't seen something like the  packages before either, so its a good change. (In the background you can see my crimp-er, straightener, and various products) And at the bottom, I got a Train and an Aerosmith CD. Did you guys get any goodies recently?

Here is the Dream Bounce Blush I got. I had picked up two colors, but when I got in the car, I realized one had  been opened and used. Ew!  So I went back in Ulta and returned it. I got a light, bubble gum pink color.

Winter Fashion!

So for winter, I have a few go-to items!
                                                                                 Tights!!
I love wearing a cute skirt with tights in the winter! Not to great for super cold days, but a great way to look cute and stylish in the winter. If you have ripped up jeans, you can also wear a patterned pair of tights under them, for a cute peek -a- boo look.
Boots!
Boots are a super adorable and super quick way to spice up any look. There are tons of styles to choose from, including ankle boots, combat boots, heeled boots, knee high boots, over the knee boots, and so many more! In the picture I have above, I have the boots in brown and black, and I wear them all the time. This is going on my third year using them and they have held up perfect! Some of my boot options include lace up black heeled combat boots, the two mentioned above, black cowboy boots, caramel ankle boots (like the ones above, only ankle style), heeled tan ankle boots, and black ankle boots.
My favorite way to wear them are with a peacoat, skinny jeans, and a scarf. They look good with almost any outfit though!

Scarfs!

Scarfs are also a winter must! BUT, the cool thing about them are that they can be used in any season! In winter I wear heavier ones, and use them in layering to achieve different looks. You can go to youtube and find some awesome ways to wear/tie them!

Fun Socks!
Any kind of fun socks! They are super cute and extremely warm! Knee socks, fuzzy socks, anything!

Also cute coats, but no specifics!
What are your winter staples?

Fashion Show!

So.Exhausting.
The show was tons of fun, but extremely exhausting at the same time. Saturday was 6 hours rehearsal with no brakes,( in heals), and then I was at the show for 8 hours Sunday (in heals). I barely had time to eat and sleep! But, it was a great experience! These are three pictures the crew shot, before, and after the show. I modeled the pink ball gown first, and then the silver mermaid dress. I had a 60 second wardrobe change, and with these dresses it was tricky, but we got it done. Everyone did fabulous, and I am proud to be a part of this. These pictures do me, or the dresses, no justice, but I included them anyway. (I have some pictures from backstage that will go up in a later post. ) They had originally planned gift bags, but we did not receive them. However, they had raffles, and my aunt won a prize and gave it to me as a congratulations. It was all the perfume and lotions from the Sex And The City LUST Collection, and I will do reviews on them. (They are a.m.a.z.i.n.g.!
After coming home Sunday at 9 tired, sore, still having to study for midterms Tuesday and cut up*, I have no regrets.
*After rehearsal, run throughs, pictures, and changes, all the crinoline in the dresses cut up my legs from my hips down to my knees. It wasn't bad, but still stung.
Overall, I had a great time! :D

Prom Dress Fashion Show!

Tomorrow is super exciting for me! I have a dress rehearsal for a Prom Dress Fashion show! At 3 o'clock tomorrow, I'm going with one of my best friends to the rehearsal. I am in the second halve of the show modeling full, ball gowns,( one mermaid style and one full and fluffy) and my friend a short cocktail style, and a skinny homecoming style. (A-symmetrical). I am so excited and blessed to have this opportunity and am pumped to go have a great time. We also will get gift bags from the companies, after the real show, this Sunday. I will post pictures and tell you all how it goes!
Also, I am in a magazine called Gladys, coming out on January seventeenth, and I will post pictures of that as well, when it comes out.
Just to finish off this update, I would like to say Happy New Year to everyone! This year is going to be quite exciting for me, and I will update as I go. Have a great night everyone!(:

Beautiful Creatures Review

Gripping. Enthralling. Enchanting.
Beautiful Creatures was simply as the name suggests, full of Beautiful Creatures. Kami Garcia and Magaret Stohl created a mysterious, historically influenced, paranormal romance that I found was put together magically. Some parts were a little boring, but mostly because the book was so long. I loved the unexpectedness of all the characters besides Ethan. Ethan, and sometimes Lena, usually did what was expected of them. The ending of the book made me what to find out next, but did not have me leaving immediately to go buy the second book, Beautiful Darkness.
Beautiful Creatures is the first book of the Caster Chronicles. It was published on December 1st 2009 by Little, Brown. Currently, there are three books in the series, and I hope everyone goes and checks them out!
Also, I would just like to add that I loved Amma, Boo, Macon, Larkin and Ridley for minor characters.
If you have read this book, what did you think?
